Quiboloy hospitalized for pneumonia, condition stable

admin September 30, 2025

KINGDOM of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy was hospitalized on September 11 after experiencing breathing difficulties, according to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).

BJMP spokesperson Jail Superintendent Jayrex Bustinera confirmed that Quiboloy, a detainee at the Pasig City Jail, was rushed to a public hospital and subsequently diagnosed with Community Acquired Pneumonia (Moderate Risk).

The Regional Trial Court 159 in Pasig City, which is overseeing Quiboloy’s case, was promptly informed of his condition.

On September 15, the court issued an order authorizing Quiboloy’s hospitalization. As of September 30, Bustinera reported that Quiboloy is stable and recovering in a public hospital, in accordance with BJMP policies on medical care for persons deprived of liberty.

This is not the first time Quiboloy has been hospitalized for pneumonia; he was previously admitted on January 23 for the same condition and returned to Pasig City Jail on February 12.

Quiboloy is currently facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Section 4(a) of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, as amended, before the Pasig court. He also faces charges under Section 5(b) and Section 10(a) of the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
