THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized an estimated 77.5 kilos of shabu valued at P534.75 million in a condominium in Mandaluyong on Monday.
The illegal drugs stuffed in Chinese tea bags were confiscated when PDEA agents raided a unit on the 35th floor of the condominium building along EDSA in Barangay Barangka Ilaya.
Arrested during the sting were businessman Mike Abac, 32, and Edison de Guzman.
Charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act were filed yesterday against the suspects, according to PDEA Intelligence and Investigation Service director Adrian Alvarino.
The PDEA is trying to determine if the drugs were smuggled into the country or packed locally.
Police said the suspects also yielded a cell phone and assorted drug paraphernalia.
