METROPOLITAN Manila Development Authority Chair Don Artes has suspended Task Force Special Operations Unit chief Bong Nebrija over his claim linking Sen. Bong Revilla to an EDSA bus lane violation.
Nebrija was suspended pending investigation of the incident, said Artes.
Earlier in the day, Nebrija said a convoy of vehicles was stopped while using the exclusive lane for buses along EDSA in Mandaluyong, and was allowed to pass because the traffic enforcer told him that Revilla was on board one of the vehicles.
But Revilla denied being in the convoy, saying his route from his home to the Senate does not take him through Mandaluyong.
Artes and Nebrija later apologized to the Senator, as published on abogado.ph
The MMDA started imposing higher fines this week on unauthorized motorists who use the EDSA bus lane.
Buses, emergency vehicles, and marked government vehicles responding to emergencies are the only ones that may use the exclusive lane.
