THE arrest of a lady guard and housewife with their cohort only proved what a scourge to society the drug problem is and Quezon City Police District (QCPD) chief Brigadier General Antonio Yarra once again expressed sorrow over how formerly decent women have been drawn to involvement in the illegal drug trade, believing that selling drugs would somehow solve their problems of poverty.
Yarra identified the two female druggies as Christine Abuda, 32, lady guard, of Benitez Street, Barangay San Martin De Porres, Cubao, and Bea Abad, 29, of No. 4 Crame St., Bgy. Pasong Tamo.
According to Cubao Police Station (PS 7) commander Lieutenant Colonel Elizabeth Jasmin, Abuda was busted in a buy-bust operation with her cohort and alleged paramour Jun Dantes, 52, also of Benitez St., after a police poser-buyer was able to purchase an undisclosed amount of shabu at the suspect’s residence. Found in the lady guard possession was approximately 2 grams of the illegal drug valued at P13,600.
Meanwhile, Holy Spirit Police Station (PS 14) commander Lt. Col. Jeffrey Bilaro said that Abad was also apprehended in an earlier buy-bust operation with three others identified as Raquello Sague, 34, of Luzon Avenue Certeza Compound, Bgy. Culiat; Darwin Turbila, 41, of No. 50 Purok 2 Bgy. Culiat; and Renny John Paul Corlet, 21, of 343 Veterans Village, Bgy. Pasong Tamo.
Confiscated from the suspects were about 20 grams of shabu worth PhP136,000.00, a gray Yamaha Nmax motorcycle, one black coin purse, and the buy-bust money used in the drug transaction.
Background checks on the four druggie showed that Abad and Corlet are listed as Drug Watch Personalities of Bgy. Pasong Tamo while Sague and Benjamin were likewise listed in Bgy. Culiat.
