A 63-year-old House of Representatives employee was shot dead by a riding-in-tandem in Barangay Commonwealth, Quezon City, on Sunday afternoon.
Police confirmed the victim was attending his 7-year-old daughter’s birthday party at a subdivision clubhouse when the incident occurred.
According to Batasan Police Station Commander PLtCol. Romil Avenido, the suspects, who were observed entering the subdivision over two hours prior to the shooting, fired upon the victim at approximately 2:55 p.m.
After shooting the victim, they exited the subdivision through Gate 1 and fired shots at the guard house. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
Initial investigations suggest the crime was well-planned.
The suspects used a fake ID, which was later recovered at the guard house and traced to its owner, who had reported it missing two years prior.
Police are currently analyzing CCTV footage to identify the plate number of the black motorcycle used as the getaway vehicle. While police have identified possible persons of interest, the investigation is ongoing. The motive for the killing remains under investigation.
