PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. launched the “Pamilya Pass 1+3” program on Sunday, offering families and groups of four free MRT-3 and LRT-2 rides every Sunday starting June 1, 2025.
The initiative, designed to celebrate Family Day and strengthen family bonds, allows families or groups of four to travel on the train lines by purchasing only one ticket.
The President, along with his family and several Cabinet officials, inaugurated the program with a symbolic train ride from the GMA-Kamuning Station to the North Avenue Station of the MRT-3 in Quezon City.
During the trip, the Marcos family interacted with commuters, highlighting the program’s aim to make public transportation more accessible and affordable for Filipino families.
President Marcos emphasized the cultural significance of Sundays in the Philippines, traditionally a day dedicated to family bonding.
Under the Pamilya Pass, only one member of a family or group of four needs to purchase a ticket, with the remaining three members entering through a designated side entrance.
This initiative, spearheaded by the President and implemented by the Department of Transportation (DOTr), aims to provide Filipinos with an opportunity to spend quality time together without the added financial burden of multiple fares.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon clarified that the program is open to both families and groups of four friends.
