THE Department of Transportation-Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (DOTr-SAICT) continued its intensified operations against the illegal use of the EDSA Bus Carousel, apprehending two ambulances, one of which was discovered to be operating as a shuttle service.
During the morning rush hour on February 11, 2026, operatives of the DOTr-SAICT, led by Special Operations Group (SOG) Head Rayson Dela Torre, apprehended the ambulances along Santolan Station of the EDSA Bus Carousel.
Upon inspection, one of the ambulances revealed a shocking sight: the interior was filled with seats similar to those found in ordinary shuttle vans or passenger vehicles, and it lacked any emergency medical equipment such as a stretcher, oxygen tank, or other first-aid equipment.
When questioned about the absence of standard medical equipment, one of the drivers admitted that they were using the ambulance as a service vehicle for passengers going for hospital check-ups.
