THE kidnapping and illegal detention complaints filed by the family of missing beauty pageant candidate Catherine Camilon against a dismissed policeman and his driver has been dismissed by the prosecutor.
A prosecutor alleged that lack of evidence was the reason behind the dismissal of the case.
However, the Calabarzon police said it would file a motion for reconsideration.
The main suspect, Allan De Castro, was dismissed from police service earlier this year.
De Castro had confirmed his relationship with Camilon but remained silent about the beauty queen’s disappearance.
Rose Camilon, mother of Catherine Camilon, said they had received the prosecutor’s resolution Wednesday morning.
“Hindi po ako nawawalan ng pag-asa,” Rose told TeleRadyo Serbisyo.
She said police told her on Wednesday not to worry about the development because they would still take further action.
“Hindi naman ho daw dito natatapos ito,” Rose said.
Camilon was reported missing by her family on October 17. She was last seen October 12.
