POLICE are now investigating a shooting incident where a Customs lawyer was shot by unknown assailants along Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City on Monday evening.
A report said that BOC internal and prosecution division investigator Joseph Zapata was heading south from his office when gunmen riding a motorcycle shot the left side of his vehicle.
The incident injured the back of his head and also caused him to hit another car. Zapata was then rushed to hospital.
Authorities are investigating the motive of the crime, the identification of the suspects, and the motorcycle that was used.
The BOC is coordinating with police over the incident.
BOC intelligence and investigation service director Jeoffrey Tacio said the National Bureau of Investigation has been asked to help.
“Tinitingnan namin ang lahat ng hawak niyang case, and from there, we will backtrack kung may related doon, and also other angle so lahat ng angle makikita namin,” Tacio said.
Several Customs employees have been attacked recently, most of who died.
