FORMER Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo has filed a motion to remain at the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory instead of being transferred to an all-women’s correctional facility following her conviction on qualified human trafficking charges.
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) said Guo, through her counsel, filed the motion with the Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 167.
A court hearing on her plea has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 26, which will delay her transfer to the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong.
Last Thursday, the Pasig court found Guo guilty of qualified human trafficking and sentenced her to life imprisonment, ordering her immediate transfer to the CIW.
Her co-accused were also sentenced to life imprisonment and ordered to pay fines and reparations. The court also ordered the forfeiture of the P6-billion Baofu compound and the permanent revocation of the registration of several companies.
