PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally inspected a reported flood control project in Purok 4, Brgy. Piel, Baliwag, Bulacan, and discovered it to be a “ghost project.”
The inspection was prompted by a report submitted to sumbongsapangulo.ph, a platform for citizens to report government-related concerns.
The project, a reinforced concrete river wall, was valued at PhP55.7 million and was declared 100% complete and fully paid in June 2025.
However, upon inspection, there was no river wall present, no construction materials on site, and no evidence to suggest that any work had ever commenced.
The discovery highlights a significant case of alleged corruption and misuse of public funds, raising serious questions about the oversight and accountability mechanisms in place for government infrastructure projects.
The incident underscores the importance of citizen reporting and the President’s commitment to investigating and addressing corruption allegations.
