THE low pressure area (LPA) has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and is bringing rain over Visayas, Mindanao and Palawan, the state-run weather agency said on Wednesday.
According to weatherman Patrick del Mundo of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the LPA was last spotted around 3 a.m. some 195 kilometers south of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
Pagasa said on Tuesday that the weather disturbance was less likely to escalate into a tropical depression as it had a bigger chance of dissipating in the next few days.
Del Mundo said the northeast monsoon locally known as “amihan”, is bringing rain and winds over Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Bicol Region, Aurora and the rest of Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan).
Meanwhile, the same weather system is affecting Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon where partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains may prevail over the next 24 hours.
