IN a proactive move to ensure student safety, Laguna Governor Sol Aragones has announced the suspension of face-to-face classes in all levels, both public and private, across the province from October 14 to 31, 2025.
The suspension is intended to allow the province to prepare for potential earthquakes.
Governor Aragones explained that alternative delivery modes of learning, including online classes and modular learning, will be implemented during the suspension period.
“Sa halip ay magkakaroon tayo ng Alternative Delivery Mode kasama na ang Online class at Modular. Ito po ay para matiyak ang kaligtasan ng ating mga mag-aaral at makapaghanda din tayo ng mga plano,” she stated.
The decision reflects a growing emphasis on disaster preparedness in the region, given its vulnerability to seismic activity. The suspension will allow schools and local authorities to review and reinforce safety protocols, conduct earthquake drills, and ensure that infrastructure is adequately prepared to withstand potential tremors.
