CRIMINAL Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives, in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), seized PHP15.5 million worth of relief goods and arrested a female suspect in a law enforcement operation in Tondo, Manila, on Thursday night.
The operation targeted alleged violations of the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010 and the Revised Penal Code related to the sale of relief goods marked “not for sale.”
CIDG Director Maj. Gen. Robert A Morico II stated the operation was initiated following reports of “DSWD Family Kit” relief goods being sold illegally.
