THE House Infrastructure Committee has invited former Senate Finance Committee Chairperson Grace Poe, Ako Bicol party-list Rep. and former House appropriations panel chairperson Zaldy Co, and former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) official Roberto Bernardo to appear before its investigation into flood control projects.
The invitations follow the House panel’s approval of a motion by Caloocan Rep. Edgar Erice, who argued that these individuals should explain alleged insertions or congressional initiatives on budget items in the national budget for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025.
The committee seeks to understand the rationale behind these budget allocations and determine if they contributed to any irregularities or anomalies in the flood control projects.
