MULTISECTORAL groups representing youth, transport, urban poor, farmers, fisherfolk, frontliners, and the informal sector gathered at the iconic FPJ Statue in Manila to celebrate the filing of the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist for the upcoming 2025 elections.
The event served as a powerful symbol of unity and support for the partylist, which is inspired by the enduring legacy of the late Fernando Poe Jr.
“We, the Political Officers League of the Philippines, together with our nationwide networks, are fully supporting FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist,” stated Ric Serrano, Secretary General of POLPhil. “May you relive the aspirations and advocacies of The King, FPJ., the 14th president of the republic of the Philippines in the hearts and minds of the Filipino people,” Serrano added.
Krissy Abesamis, the Youth Leader of the Manila Chapter of BAYANIHAN, also expressed her support, saying, “We know that FPJ Panday Bayanihan will revive the aspirations of ‘Da King FPJ,’ who was loved by millions of Manileños. Push, FPJ Panday Partylist!”
Among the supporters were long-time followers of FPJ, many of whom were once part of the now-defunct FPJPM organization, which supported FPJ’s presidential bid in 2004. These original backers have now rallied under the banner of FPJ Panday Bayanihan, reaffirming their loyalty and dedication to the cause.
Raymond “Manolo” Mercedes, one of FPJ’s original supporters from 2004 and a prominent leader of the movement, was instrumental in gathering the group for this momentous occasion.
He stated with conviction, “May bagong umaga parating pasa sa pag papanday ng bagong umaga.”
Mercedes emphasized the significance of this reunion, noting that FPJ Panday Bayanihan represents the long-awaited answer to their call for a political platform that embodies the values FPJ stood for — justice, unity, and genuine service to the people.
With a growing base of support from various sectors, FPJ Panday Bayanihan continues to gain momentum as it gears up for the 2025 elections, aiming to champion causes that uplift the lives of marginalized Filipinos while honoring the legacy of Fernando Poe Jr.
