HENRY Alcantara, a former district engineer of Bulacan, was taken to Pasay Medical Center on Monday after experiencing chest pains, according to Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Mao Aplasca.
Alcantara underwent an ECG and other tests, which determined that the cause was only a muscle spasm. He was returned to the Senate on the same day and his condition is being continuously monitored by the medical team.
On September 18, he was cited in contempt by the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee after allegedly lying about ghost flood control projects in Bulacan. He and two other former engineers have requested to be allowed house arrest, but the committee has not yet made a decision.
