THIS Saturday, September 16, 2023, local artists are set to present their talents in music and the arts as an initiative to promote climate action in response to the call for the protection and conservation of the environment against the impacts of climate change and global warming.
The event, dubbed as Local Filipino Artists for Climate Action, is supported by presidential adviser for poverty alleviation Secretary Lorenzo ‘Larry’ Gadon and Climate Change Commissioner Albert Dela Cruz Sr., who both emphasized the need for unity and cooperation in addressing the effects of the global phenomenon.
Scheduled at 7:00 to 10:00 in the evening at the prestigious Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati City, the concert and art exhibit will showcase local singing talents in several performances and modern day masterpieces by a number of local sculptors.
Commissioner Dela Cruz said that the sculptures that will be featured in the exhibit were from used metal as re-engineered in upscale products of art that aims to help reduce waste while protecting the environment.
He added that the special event, which is promoted in sponsorship with RJ Bistro and Dusit Thani, will also promote local livelihood for local artists while encouraging them to enhance their creativity in projecting and embracing a whole-of-society approach for climate action.
