BOOKS, magazines and other House of Representatives (HRep) publications were turned over by the Legislative Information Resources Management Department (LIRMD), headed by Deputy Secretary General Dr. Edgardo H. Pangilinan, to the Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) in a turn-over ceremony last July 5, 2023 at the Quezon City Public Library, Quezon City Hall Compound, Quezon City.
The donation was done in response to the latter’s request for materials to add to their current collection in the main and branch libraries. During the event, QCPL Officer-in-Charge Ms. Mariza G. Chico discussed QCPL’s E-library project, as well as its library enrichment and literacy program which aims to develop and enhance the reading habits of QC residents, especially the youth in remote barangays.
The donated materials will be primarily used in the QCPL main library, while some will be distributed to its branch libraries. Aside from OIC Chico, others present during the event to receive the donated materials were Assistant City Librarian Lucila R. Raquiño, Library Extension Division Donna Mae G. Estoque, Readers Services Division Head Mary Ann L. Bernal, Technical Services Division Head Manica M. Cortes, Collection Development Head Cherry M. Taruc, Administrative Services Head Atty. Stephanie H. Siason-Contreras, and District Libraries Division Assistant Head Rona D. Crucillo.
A short tour of the QCPL facilities and a briefing on the QCPL services were conducted by the QCPL librarians for the LIRMD delegation composed of DSG Dr. Edgardo H. Pangilinan, Legislative Information Reference and Service Development Bureau (LIRSDB) Executive Director Atty. Jennelyn F. Go-Sison, Legislative Library Management Service (LLMS) Director Jose V. Enciso, and LLMS Senior Librarian Jertrude C. Dimaano.
