The turnover of farm machinery to two (2) farmers’ organizations in the province of Sarangani.
THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Sarangani recently turned over hauling trucks, with a total cost of Php 1.09—million, to two (2) agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations to boost their agricultural productivities.
DAR Assistant Regional Director H. Roldan Ali said one hauling truck worth Php 646,000 was turned over to Tuguis-Tambili Irrigators Service Association, Inc., in the town of Kiamba, while the Php 443,500 farm machinery was delivered to Sapu Masla Taliawid Producers Cooperative, in Malapatan.
Ali said the equipment is provided under the Linking Smallholder Farmers to Markets with Microfinance (LinkSFarMM), a support service project that helps improve the production, post-production and marketing aspects of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs).
“These farm machinery will service many of our ARBs and smallholder farmers and would be a great tool in boosting their agricultural productivities,” he said.
Ali added that the more productive their farms are the bigger income they would gain, as well.
“The DAR is doubling its effort to pursue progress in the countryside and we could achieve this by improving the productions of our farmers,” he said.
LinkSFarMM is an innovative program of the DAR to make smallholder farmers increase agricultural productivity and effectively manage their agricultural production by applying a value chain process, a set of activities performed in order to deliver a valuable product.
