CAPITOL- Bataan local and government officials led by Gov. Abet Garcia formally opened Wednesday afternoon the Bataan Tourism Park and simultaneously switched on Christmas lightings on the famous open park and The Bunker, the provincial capitol building.
In his speech, Gov Garcia said that the project was actually the vision of his late father Tet Garcia, who served as governor and congressman for several years and his mother Madam Vicky Sandejas Garcia, chairperson of the Bataan Tourism Council.
“As we approach to new normal brought about by the pandemic we are inviting the public to visit the open park and enjoy the beauty of the nature,” pointed out the governor.
He thanked Rep. Joet Garcia, 2nd district, for initiating and funding the project, together with District engineer Ulysses Llado, Mayor Francis Garcia, Bishop Ruperto Santos and the architects and engineers who planned perfectly the said Bataan Tourism Park. For his part, Rep. Joet Garcia said that this was just the soft opening of the project as some more facilities will be set up such as the Mini Amphi theater, saying this can be a playground for youth, jogging, wellness center and open to the public.
“We will be putting up sports equipment and tourism pavilion where the public can use it for their mental wellness in this times of pandemic,” pointed out the Bataan solon who runs unopposed as governor come elections.
“Magiging showcases pa ito ng ating local products and this will further boost our tourism program in Bataan,” added Congressman Garcia.
