KOKOI Baldo, reggae singer who was a finalist in Season 2 of “The Voice of the Philippines,” died in a vehicular accident on Friday morning. He was 44.

Baldo’s wife, Sam, confirmed his death through Baldo’s official Facebook page, as she requested the public to delete any posts showing the accident scene.

According to reports, the incident happened in Bacolod City.

“I am humbly asking everyone to take down the posts pertaining to my husband, Kokoi Baldo’s accident scene as it is already causing distress to our entire family,” the singer’s wife wrote.

“If you see any posts of the said accident, please ask the owner of the post to delete,” she added.

Sam also asked for privacy for their family.

“He will be missed, loved and forever in our hearts,” she said.

Baldo was a four-chair turner during the blind audition of the “The Voice of the Philippines” Season 2 in 2014, where he performed “One Day” by American reggae singer Matisyahu.

He joined the team of coach Sarah Geronimo and was eliminated from the singing competition before the second to the final round.

In a social media post after the news of his death, Geronimo thanked Baldo for sharing his talent in music.

“Marami po akong natutunan sa inyo lalo na ang prinsipyo nyo sa buhay [I learned a lot from you, especially your life principle],” she wrote on Instagram.

“Maraming salamat Sir Kokoi [Thank you very much, Sir Kokoi],” the actress-singer added. “May your soul rest in God’s presence.”
