THE driver who was caught counterflowing on the Skyway will never be able to drive again, after Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon ordered the perpetual revocation of his license.
The cancellation of Jake Nazareno’s license is in accordance with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to hold irresponsible and reckless drivers accountable to ensure road safety for all road users.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon explained that Nazareno appeared at the Land Transportation Office (LTO) yesterday to explain the incident, and it was revealed that the driver was drunk when he was caught counterflowing on the Skyway.
“This is unacceptable. You were drunk, then you counterflowed on the Skyway, and you almost killed someone because of what you did,” said Secretary Dizon. In addition to the perpetual revocation, the driver will also face charges of Anti-Drunk Driving and Reckless Driving.
“Let this serve as an example to our motorists. The President, the government is serious about keeping people safe on the roads,” Secretary Dizon emphasized.
