The abandoned SUV where the 68-year-old doctor was found dead in Quezon City.
POLICE are investigating the death of a 68-year-old male doctor who was found stabbed inside an abandoned SUV in Quezon City. A security guard reported the vehicle, parked on Mindanao Avenue extension in Barangay Pasong Putik, to authorities.
According to a report by Jun Veneracion on GMA News “Saksi,” police believe the victim, whose name has not yet been released, was attacked with a pair of scissors or iris scissors. His personal belongings, including his mobile phone, wallet, and cash, were missing, leading investigators to suspect robbery as the motive.
Examination of the SUV’s dashcam footage revealed a man passing by the vehicle around 10:00 pm last Friday. Police believe this man is the suspect and have subsequently arrested him following a follow-up operation. Recovered from the suspect were the victim’s ATM card and nail cutter.
The suspect denies any involvement in the crime, claiming he was at home at the time of the incident and that the nail cutter belonged to him. He also denies possessing the victim’s ATM card. He asserts that his wife and neighbors can corroborate his alibi.
Despite the suspect’s denial, he will be charged with robbery with homicide. The investigation is ongoing.
