MARIKINA City Representative Marcy Teodoro has strongly refuted accusations linking him to the Discaya contract controversy, denouncing the allegations as a diversionary tactic and a “cheap shot” to damage his reputation.
Teodoro announced that he is contemplating filing charges against the Discaya couple for making false statements and attempting to besmirch his good name.
“Klaro na klaro na pagkatapos kong i-expose ang DPWH project sa 2026 NEP na tapos na pero isinama pa rin sa program (double funding), ngayon naman ay ako ang pilit na idinadawit sa mga kalokohan nila,” Teodoro stated, suggesting that the accusations are a direct response to his efforts to expose irregularities within the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
He emphasized that the accusations are baseless and intended to distract from the real issues of corruption and anomalies in flood control projects.
Teodoro clarified that he was not yet a congressman when the contracts were awarded to the Discayas, stating that the DPWH projects involving their company occurred around 2020 or 2021, prior to his term beginning in 2022.
He plans to file perjury charges against the Discayas for providing false testimony in a legislative hearing while under oath.
“With this, I am now contemplating on filing charges against the Discaya’s for lying and for trying to besmirch my good reputation,” Teodoro declared.
He urged the public to be critical of disinformation and to question the motives of those spreading it, while reaffirming his commitment to serving his constituents with honesty and dedication.
