NAGLABAS ang Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) ng kautusan ngayong Miyerkoles na nagpapahintulot mag-angkat ang bansa ng 440,000 metriko tonelada sa kabila ng kawalan ng pirma ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., chair ng SRA Board bilang Agriculture Secretary.
Ayon sa Sugar Order (SO) No. 6, na naka-upload sa website ng SRA, ang dokumento ay ipinadala sa Office of the President noong Pebrero 9, 2023.
Ang 240,000 MT dito ay gagamitin bilang buffer stock o reserba.
Ang dokumento ay pirmado nina SRA Administrator David John Thaddeus Alba (vice-chairperson), SRA Board members Mitzi Mangwag (millers’ representative) at Pablo Luiz Azcona (planters’ representative).
Nakapirma din sa pinakahuling kautusan si Department of Agriculture (DA) Senior Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban.
Ayon kay Azcona, ang Pangulo ay kinatawan sa SRA Board ni Panganiban.
“For upcoming orders, we respectfully send it to the President so that he is very well informed. Before we release it, it is always nice to have his input,” ayon kay Azcona.
“Go-signal siguro ‘yun because I don’t know if he will sign in personally eh,” dagdag pa nito.
Wala pang pahayag ang kampo ni Marcos ukol dito.
