FINANCE Secretary Ralph G. Recto convened Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Romeo Lumagui, Jr. and Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno to discuss President’s directives and accelerate the investigation of anomalies in flood control projects.
The directives include accelerating the conduct of lifestyle checks as well as tax and customs fraud audits.
“We will ensure that the money earned by our countrymen is truly benefiting them. We will protect the nation’s funds and ensure that every peso collected goes to programs and real solutions to every need of Filipinos,” Secretary Recto said.
The meeting underscores the government’s commitment to addressing corruption and ensuring accountability in the use of public funds for critical infrastructure projects.
