INALERTO ng EcoWaste Coalition ang publiko laban sa panganib na dala umano ng 15 cosmetic products mula sa China at Pakistan na kumakalat sa merkado.
Partikular na tinukoy ng grupo ang 15 iba’t ibang klase ng mga facial cream na lantarang ibinibenta sa halagang P100 hanggang P250 bawat isa sa mga establisimyento sa mga lungsod ng Maynila, Parañaque at Pasay.
Anila, nagtataglay ng mapaminsalang kemikal na mercury ang mga nasabing produkto.
“We did our latest test purchase to draw attention to the urgency of effectively enforcing the mercury ban in cosmetics in the ASEAN region and across the world,” saad ng pahayag ng isang Tony Dizon na tumatayong Chemical Safety Campaigner ng EcoWaste Coalition. “Despite the global ban on their manufacture, import or export, unscrupulous traders continue to bring in mercury-containing whitening and anti-aging creams from abroad, especially from China and Pakistan, which are also sold in online shopping platforms.”
