TATAAS ang singil sa kuryente ng customer ng Manila Electric Company (Meralco) sa Disyembre matapos makumpleto ang iniutos na refund order ng Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).
Sa advisory, sinabi ng Meralco na ipatutupad ang pagtaas ng rate na 32.97 sentimo kada kilowatt-hour (kWh) para sa December billing.
Ang adjustment ay magiging sa P10.2769 sa isang tipikal na kabahayan mula sa datingP9.9472 per kWh.
Sa pagtaas ng rate, ang residential customer na kumokonsumo ng 200 kWh ay inaasahang tataas sa P66 sa kabuuang electricity bill ngayong buwan.
“This month’s overall rate increase was mainly due to the completion of a distribution-related refund equivalent to P0.4669 per kWh for residential customers,” ayon sa kalatasng Meralco.
Noong Mayo, inutusan ng ERC ang Meralco na i-refund ang may P7.8 billion sobrang koleksiyon na katumbas ng P0.4669 per kWh sa residential customers.
“There are still three ongoing refunds, totaling P1.3340 per kWh for residential customers, being implemented by Meralco that continue to temper customers’ monthly bills,” ayon pa sa Meralco.
“These are expected to be fully refunded by December 2022, January 2023, and May 2023, and the impact will subsequently be felt in the succeeding billing periods,” dagdag pa ng Meralco.
