MOTORISTS will enjoy lower fuel prices this week, marking the third consecutive week of rollbacks for diesel and kerosene.
Major oil companies, including Chevron Philippines Inc. (Caltex), Seaoil Philippines Corp., and Shell Pilipinas Corp., announced Monday price reductions of ₱0.10 per liter for gasoline and diesel, and ₱0.30 per liter for kerosene. Cleanfuel will implement similar changes, excluding kerosene. These adjustments will take effect Tuesday, February 11, at 6 a.m. for most companies, with Cleanfuel implementing the rollback at 8:01 a.m.
While the Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau (DOE-OIMB) had predicted these rollbacks, citing factors such as higher buying prices in Asia, production declines, and planned US tariffs, other oil companies have yet to announce their price adjustments for the week.
Last week saw a mixed picture, with gasoline prices increasing by ₱0.70 per liter while diesel and kerosene saw rollbacks of ₱1.15 and ₱0.90 per liter, respectively. As of January 28, 2025, year-to-date adjustments show a net increase of ₱2.65 per liter for gasoline, and ₱4.80 per liter for both diesel and kerosene.
