SENATOR Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go stressed the need to finance the construction and continued operations of government hospitals.
As the Committee on Health and Demography tackled on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, various bills for establishment, upgrading and conversion of hospitals as well as medical facilities in the Philippines’ prime tourist spots, Go asked agencies for an update on the implementation of recent laws for the construction of super health centers and specialty centers.
According to Go, funding has been included in annual budgets for the establishment of over 700 super health centers since 2022.
“We don’t want white elephants. We need operational health facilities for our countrymen, especially poor Filipinos,” Go said in mixed English and Filipino.
