PERSONNEL from the Apayao Provincial Mobile Force Company braved crossing a river just to teach and help children with their education.
Using a boat, the cops crossed a river to reach three public schools in geographically isolated Barangays Cagandungan, Calayukay and Calabigan, all in the Municipality of Luna.
In coordination with the Department of Education – Luna Division, the police officers taught students how to read and write as part of their “Mistra U, Pulis U” and “Sulat Kamay” programs, which both aim to ensure students residing in isolated areas continue their education.
Philippine National Police Chief, Police General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar praised the police officers for helping the children with their education.
“Makakaasa ang mga kabataan na narito lamang ang kapulisan upang tulungan kayo sa oras ng inyong pangangailangan, lalo na sa inyong edukasyon. Kakampi ninyo kami at hindi kaaway,” Eleazar said.
