ALEX Eala’s campaign at the US Open 2025 came to an end in the second round after a straight-sets defeat to Spain’s Cristina Bucsa.
Eala, the Filipina tennis star, lost the match with scores of 6-4, 6-3, early Thursday morning Philippine time. Despite showing flashes of brilliance, Eala was unable to overcome Bucsa’s consistent play and ultimately fell short in her bid to advance further in the tournament.
The loss marks the end of Eala’s singles journey at this year’s US Open.
While the defeat is undoubtedly disappointing for the young athlete and her supporters, the experience gained from competing at such a high level will undoubtedly contribute to her growth and development as a tennis player.
Eala is expected to continue her training and compete in future tournaments, aiming to build on her skills and achieve further success on the international stage.
