DASMARINAS Mayor Jenny Barzaga has emerged victorious in the special election for Cavite’s 4th Congressional District, securing the seat previously held by her son, expelled former Representative Kiko Barzaga.
The Commission on Elections officially proclaimed Barzaga the winner at 3:21 a.m. on Sunday, August 30, marking a smooth transition of the family’s representation in the House of Representatives.
The special election was called to fill the vacancy left after Kiko Barzaga was expelled from Congress. By winning the contest, Mayor Barzaga assumes the post that her son vacated, effectively continuing the family’s leadership over the district.
