THE University of Makati (UMak) confirmed on Friday that one of its students was found lifeless within the school grounds.
The tragic discovery has cast a pall over the university community, prompting an immediate response from school administration as well as expressions of grief and sympathy from students, faculty, and staff.
In an official statement, UMak said it has already reached out to the student’s family and is coordinating closely with local authorities to ensure a proper and thorough investigation into the incident.
The university extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and loved ones, stating, “We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the student’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.” The institution also urged the community to respect the family’s privacy and refrain from sharing unverified or speculative information, emphasizing compassion and restraint across all platforms.
To support those affected by the tragedy, UMak announced that guidance counselors, trained faculty, and support staff are available to provide assistance and psychological first aid to anyone in the university community who may need help coping with the loss.
