THE National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced Sunday it will deploy approximately 13,084 personnel across Metro Manila to ensure public order and safety for the upcoming Undas (All Saints’ Day) observance.
The force includes 12,459 officers from the NCRPO proper and 625 from regional support units. Police Lieutenant Colonel Hazel Asilo confirmed that deployment plans are already in place, with coordination fully established with local government units. “Security arrangements have been set for cemeteries, transport terminals, and all areas expected to draw large crowds,” Asilo told Super Radyo dzBB.
Authorities will shift to a staggered implementation schedule: skeletal deployment begins October 29, followed by full alert status taking effect at 12:01 a.m. on October 30. The NCRPO is currently operating under heightened alert as preparations intensify. Asilo noted that additional personnel from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Philippine Coast Guard will complement the police contingent, though exact numbers from those agencies are still being consolidated.
Officers will be strategically positioned at anticipated gathering points and traffic‑congestion hotspots to manage the surge in visitors paying respects at memorial parks and traveling to home provinces. The public is reminded that Manila North Cemetery has set October 27 as the final day for cleaning and decorating tombs ahead of the official observance. Residents and travelers are advised to monitor advisories and plan their visits accordingly to avoid peak‑period crowds.
