THE Philippine National Police confirmed on Thursday that authorities have apprehended the two individuals responsible for the fatal shooting of vlogger Alicia “Mima Alicia” Lipata.
PNP Public Information Office chief Police Colonel Allen Rae Co announced that the gunman, known only by the alias “MS,” and the motorcycle driver, identified as “GA,” are now in police custody following a swift manhunt operation.
The breakthrough came barely 24 hours after the attack, thanks largely to CCTV footage and witness accounts that helped investigators piece together the suspects’ identities and movements.
Northern Police District’s Special Investigation Task Group tracked the pair all the way to Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City, Pampanga, where they were taken into custody at around 8:20 a.m. on Thursday. Co confirmed that the descriptions captured on video and given by witnesses matched the apprehended individuals perfectly.
Authorities noted that the quick apprehension sends a strong message that violence will not go unpunished, regardless of motive or public profile. Investigators continue to build the case against the suspects, while also exploring all possible angles to determine the exact reason behind the killing.
The PNP has assured the public that justice will be served and that the legal process will proceed in accordance with the law.
