COINCIDING with Ayala car-free Sunday, scores of joggers held an anti-corruption run today as they demanded Vice President Sara Duterte’s accountability.
Nica Dumlao, organizer of the said activity, said, “The accountability mechanisms on the accusations against Vice President Sara Duterte have been delayed for about 2 years already. We expect the Senate to convene the impeachment court tomorrow.
It is time to proceed without any delay.”
Dumlao, as part of Outrun Movement, also helped organize the anti-corruption runs from Ayala to Luneta on the days of the Bahain ang Luneta held on September 21, and November 30, 2025.
The runners first converged at the Sultan Kudarat Monument at the corner of Paseo De Roxas and Makati Avenue then towards the direction of the Ninoy Aquino Monument and then along the stretch of Ayala Avenue.
“We want to show the world that Filipinos from all walks of life, runners and fitness enthusiasts included, are watching how this impeachment process will unfold. We urge the senator-judges to allow all evidence to be shown and all witnesses to be heard for everyone to see. Convict the vice president based on the evidence. Do not acquit her through technicalities or utter political bias,” Dumlao asserted.
Several participants wore shirts calling for the Vice President’s conviction. A few were also seen distributing anti-Sara Duterte stickers while some also wore shirts bearing generic calls against graft and corruption.
Dumlao added, “Today is also a call for the entire government from Congress and the Senate to the Ombudsman to run after all corrupt government officials. No one should get away with stealing our money. Let us all outrun the thieves! Ikulong na ‘yan! Mga kurakot!”
