PUBLIC satisfaction with members of the House of Representatives remains strong, with about seven in 10 Filipinos expressing approval of their district representatives, according to Deputy Speaker Jay Khonghun of Zambales based on the latest nationwide survey by WR Numero Research.
Khonghun said Thursday results of the March 2026 Philippine Public Opinion Monitor showed that 71 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with the performance of their local representatives, underscoring sustained public approval at the grassroots level.
The same survey also indicated that the House led by Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III and Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” A. Marcos obtained a 35 percent “mahusay” (good) performance rating, alongside a 30 percent undecided and 35 percent dissatisfied rating, Khonghun said.
The figures mirror those of the Senate, suggesting comparable public assessments of both chambers of Congress.
The poll, conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,455 adult Filipinos from March 10 to 17, has a margin of error of ±3 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
House leaders led by Khonghun pointed to the high district-level satisfaction as a more accurate measure of performance, saying it reflects the direct experience of constituents with their elected representatives.
“The 71 percent satisfaction rating shows that, beyond national perception, our constituents feel the presence and service of their representatives in their daily lives,” Khonghun said.
Analysts note that institutional ratings for Congress are often influenced by broader political developments and national issues, while district-level satisfaction tends to capture on-the-ground delivery of services such as medical and financial assistance, infrastructure support, and community programs.
The survey also showed that 30 percent of respondents remained undecided on the overall performance of the House—an indicator, Khonghun said, of a segment of the population that may still be forming its views amid competing narratives in the national discourse.
Despite a balanced split between positive and negative ratings at the institutional level, Khonghun said the strong satisfaction score among constituents reinforces their focus on local service delivery and legislative work.
“The message is clear: people value results they can see and feel in their communities,” Khonghun said.
The House of Representatives has recently highlighted its efforts to pass key legislation, strengthen oversight functions, and support programs aimed at addressing inflation, energy costs, and social protection—issues that directly affect Filipino households, Khonghun said.
