A TRAGIC incident has claimed the lives of two 4-year-old cousins in Olongapo City after they became trapped inside an abandoned vehicle.
CCTV footage provided by Olongapo City Police Station 6 captured the moment the two young children entered the car in Barangay Barretto. Tragically, they were unable to exit and were later found dead.
According to police reports based on the CCTV footage, the two cousins entered the abandoned car around 11:15 AM. It was not until approximately 2:00 PM that they were discovered. Although the children were rushed to the hospital, one was declared dead on arrival. The other cousin succumbed to his condition later that evening, around 11:00 PM.
The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding this devastating event.
The parents of the children had reportedly left them in the care of older relatives while they were at work. However, the older relatives apparently did not notice when the two young children wandered off. A search was immediately initiated once their absence was discovered.
