WITH no temporary restraining order issued on the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Z. Duterte, lawmakers said the House process will proceed as scheduled.
“No TRO vs Duterte impeachment proceedings: See you on April 14,” said Bicol Saro Party-list Rep. Terry L. Ridon, a member of the House Committee on Justice.
The scheduled hearing on April 14 forms part of the panel’s ongoing determination of probable cause in the impeachment complaints against the vice president.
Before the SC ruling, Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Party-list Rep. Leila de Lima took aim at Duterte’s petition before the SC seeking to halt the proceedings.
“Akala siguro nila yung SC ay ‘Sara’s Court’ na pwede nila laging takbuhan para pagtakpan ang kaduwagan at pagtakas sa pananagutan,” De Lima said in a post on X.
The remarks came as the House Committee on Justice continues its hearings, with key proceedings set to resume on April 14.
