SEVERAL coaches of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) experienced a technical malfunction on Tuesday evening, stopping mere meters away from the Taft Avenue Station. The incident, which occurred at approximately 8:01 PM, caused significant disruption to commuters relying on the vital urban rail line.
Following the temporary halt, the affected MRT-3 coaches eventually resumed operations. However, they were reportedly running without passengers. To accommodate those affected by the service interruption, additional trains were dispatched to ferry stranded commuters and alleviate the congestion caused by the glitch.
The MRT-3 management has assured the public that they are addressing the technical issue and working to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Commuters are advised to expect possible delays and to monitor official announcements for updates on train operations.
