SENATE President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III announced Thursday that Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya II, the contractor currently detained at the Senate, was brought to a hospital this morning due to concerns over his shoulder.
Sotto clarified that Discaya had already been returned to his Senate detention facility after the medical consultation. “I was told his frozen shoulder was painful, so he needed an MRI. Sotto informed reporters that the visit was brief.
Attorney Cornelio Samaniego III confirmed that Discaya was taken to San Juan De Dios Hospital earlier today. The contractor has been in Senate detention since September 2025 after being cited in contempt by the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee during hearings on the alleged anomalies in flood control projects.
