Ang said that he was unable to attend the hearings because of his health.
THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has received 40 tips through its hotline regarding the search for gambling tycoon Atong Ang, who is wanted for kidnapping in connection with the disappearance of 34 cockfighting enthusiasts (sabungeros).
CIDG National Capital Region (NCR) Chief Col. John Guiagui said the tips primarily pointed to locations in Cavite, Batangas, and Laguna, while others indicated specific locations in the Bicol Region and National Capital Region (NCR).
“What they saw was before the warrant of arrest was issued. They saw him alight from a car, go to a game fowl farm. Another delivered him expensive seafood,” Guiagui stated.
The CIDG NCR has searched 14 locations in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and Calabarzon but has yet to locate Ang. These manhunt operations included a house in Pasig City, two properties in Mandaluyong, and a penthouse in Quezon City.
Authorities are still investigating three additional locations in Metro Manila, but Guiagui declined to provide further details due to the ongoing operation. “They really prepared for this. When I entered his house, it was really clean already,” the CIDG NCR chief emphasized.
