PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared a net worth of more than P389 million in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) as of December 31, 2024. However, the President also submitted an appraisal by a private firm, Cuervo Appraisers, Inc., which placed his net worth at P1.375 billion.
The President’s declaration indicated that the P389.357 million was based on the rules of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) on the filing of SALNs, while the P1.375 billion was based on the value as appraised by Cuervo. Under CSC rules, his assets included P142.026 million worth of 21 pieces of real estate property, including agricultural and residential land, and personal pieces of property worth P247.332 million.
Marcos’ personal properties included cash amounting to P38.7 million, investments worth P134.192 million, as well as pieces of jewelry, 12 vehicles, and paintings worth P247.332 million. The President’s vehicles included a Mercedes-Benz Maybach worth P10.5 million, and 126 paintings by notable artists, including works by Fernando Amorsolo, Jose Joya, Ben Cabrera, Arturo Luz, and even a work by national hero Jose Rizal. The most expensive painting in Marcos’ collection was priced at P19 million.
The President did not declare any liabilities in his 2024 SALN, consistent with previous SALNs filed from June 2022 onwards. His net worth has increased by P60.128 million since he assumed office in June 2022, when his net worth was at P329.229 million and the appraised value of his assets was at P908 million.
