Speaker honors PBBM on 68th birthday, calls ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ his legacy

admin September 13, 2025

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" R. Marcos Jr. chats with Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez.

SPEAKER Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez on Saturday led the nation in celebrating President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr.’s 68th birth anniversary, calling his leadership a symbol of unity and his “Bagong Pilipinas” vision an enduring legacy that will define generations.

In a birthday message, the leader of the House of Representatives lauded President Marcos for steering the country through challenges with clarity and compassion, saying every Filipino feels the direction and care his administration provides.

“Mr. President, your leadership has inspired unity and resolve at a time when our nation faces both challenges and opportunities. Sa bawat hakbang ng Bagong Pilipinas, ramdam ng bawat Pilipino ang direksyon at kalinga na inyong itinataguyod,” Speaker Romualdez said.

Speaker Romualdez stressed that Congress remains a steadfast partner of Malacañang in enacting reforms that uplift communities, expand economic opportunities and safeguard the welfare of Filipinos.

“We in Congress remain deeply honored to work alongside you in pushing reforms that will improve lives, create jobs and expand opportunities for all,” the Speaker said.

“The achievements of your administration – whether in infrastructure, digital transformation or social protection – are pillars that bring us closer to a nation that is stronger, fairer and more prosperous,” he added.

Speaker Romualdez also highlighted the President’s brand of governance, anchored on service and progress rather than self-interest.

“Your dedication to service serves as a constant reminder that leadership is not about personal gain, but about collective progress. Sa inyong paggabay, patuloy nating naipapakita na ang pamahalaan ay tunay na para sa tao,” he said.

As the Chief Executive marked another milestone, Speaker Romualdez prayed for his health, wisdom and continued strength in guiding the country.

“As you mark another year of life and service, we pray for your good health and wisdom, so you may continue to guide the Philippines with clarity and strength. Ang bawat panalangin ng sambayanang Pilipino ay nawa’y magbigay sa inyo ng tibay ng loob at lakas ng pangangatawan,” Speaker Romualdez said.

Speaker Romualdez underscored that the House will remain committed to supporting the President’s vision through legislation that addresses urgent needs and secures a legacy worthy of the nation’s future.

“On this special day, the House of Representatives reaffirms its commitment to being your reliable partner in governance. Together, we shall ensure that laws passed under your administration truly address the needs of our people and secure a legacy worthy of future generations,” Speaker Romualdez said.

“Maligayang kaarawan, Mr. President! May this day remind you of the immense gratitude of the nation you serve and the continuing trust of the Filipino people,” Speaker Romualdez concluded.
