IN a sweeping reform directive from President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., newly installed Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon announced on Monday that he will order the courtesy resignation of all officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), from the highest ranks down to district engineers.
Speaking at a Palace briefing, Dizon said the order will be carried out “immediately” in the coming days.
The DPWH chief emphasized that this move is part of Marcos’ directive for a “clean sweep” of the department. Dizon stated that President Marcos instructed him to “clean up the DPWH” during a lengthy conversation earlier in the day.
The mass resignation order signals a significant effort to address corruption and improve efficiency within the agency.
