
IN response to the ongoing threat of leptospirosis, the Department of Health (DOH) has increased the number of DOH hospitals with Leptospirosis Fast Lanes.
From an initial 19 facilities in the National Capital Region (NCR), the number of leptospirosis fast lanes nationwide has now reached 27. These fast lanes enable rapid identification of a patient’s risk level and the necessary medical intervention.

The DOH reminds the public to consult a doctor immediately if they have been submerged in floodwater or mud to avoid the risk of leptospirosis.
The expansion of these fast lanes aims to improve access to timely and appropriate medical care for individuals potentially infected with leptospirosis, particularly in areas prone to flooding. This initiative is part of the DOH’s efforts to strengthen the country’s response to waterborne diseases.
