PASAY City police arrested Jianxin Yang, 54, brother of former president Rodrigo Duterte’s economic adviser Michael Yang, on Wednesday evening, July 9, 2025.
The arrest, carried out by members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) at approximately 6:30 PM in the Nasdake Building, Barangay 13, stemmed from warrants for falsification of public documents, perjury, and violation of the law regulating the use of aliases.
Yang, a resident of Alwana Village, Cugman, Cagayan de Oro, allegedly used multiple aliases including Antonio Lim, Tony Lim, and Tony Yang, according to Pasay City Police Chief Col. Joselito De Sesto.
The arrest warrant, issued by Judge Elueteria Apdian Badoles-Algodon of the Supreme Court, Municipal Trial Court in Cities, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 2, Cagayan de Oro City, on November 22, 2024, recommended bail amounts of P36,000 for falsification of public documents, P18,000 for perjury, and P30,000 for the alias violation.
Yang, reportedly an undocumented foreign national who has resided in the Philippines for nearly 30 years, was previously arrested on September 19, 2024, at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 by the Bureau of Immigration
Fugitive Search Unit and Intelligence Division, in coordination with the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission, following his arrival from Cagayan de Oro. He is currently detained at the Pasay City Police custodial facility.
