TROPICAL Depression Bising has slightly intensified, prompting PAGASA to raise Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 over three areas in Northern Luzon.
As of 11 a.m. on July 4, 2025, Bising was located 280 kilometers west-northwest of Calayan, Cagayan, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gusts of up to 70 kph.
The depression is moving west-southwestward at 15 kph. Areas under Signal No. 1 can expect strong winds of 39 to 61 kph within the next 36 hours, posing a minimal to minor threat to life and property. Pagasa advises residents in affected areas to monitor weather updates and take necessary precautions.
The areas currently under Signal No. 1 include the western portion of the Babuyan Islands (Calayan and Dalupiri Islands), the western portion of Ilocos Norte (including several municipalities and Laoag City), and the northwestern portion of Ilocos Sur (including Caoayan City and Vigan City).
Residents in these areas are urged to prepare for potential disruptions, including strong winds and possible light to moderate rainfall. Pagasa continues to monitor TD Bising’s movement and intensity, and further updates will be issued as the situation develops. For more detailed information and localized forecasts, residents are encouraged to check Pagasa’s official website and social media channels.
